Chrome autofill saves passwords, contact information, and payment details if enabled in the browser. If you want to prevent Chrome from using this information, here is how you can disable autofill in chrome. 

Steps

  1. Open Google Chrome on your desktop or laptop.

  2. Click ⋮. It’s in the top-right corner of the window. A drop-down menu will appear.

  3. Click on Settings and it opens the setting page in a new tab.

  4. In the “Autofill” section, expand the area for which you wish to disable Autofill.

  5. Toggle the setting OFF if it is on.  The system will automatically save your settings.

  6. If you want to remove saved addresses, passwords, or payment methods, then click the menu icon next to any saved addresses, passwords, or payment methods then click “Remove.”

You can use the “Clear Browsing Data” feature to completely remove the little bits of information still clinging to the browser.

How to clear Autofill Data in Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome on your desktop or laptop.

  2. Click ⋮. It’s in the top-right corner of the window. A drop-down menu will appear.

  3. Click on Settings and it opens the setting page in a new tab.

  4. In the “Privacy & Security” section, select Clear browsing data.

  5. Go to Advanced Tab.

  6. At the top, choose the “All time” option to clear all saved data.

  7. Make sure that the “Autofill form data” option is checked.

  8. Click “Clear data“.

All data from any form that’s saved in Google Chrome is wiped clean from your browser. The next time you need to fill in a form, you’ll have to use your physical memory to retain your name and address.
